Peru Brethren Church was organized in 1944. In February 1945 the church moved to a temporary building on “top of the hill” on Broadway. They used this temporary building until January 1950. Excavation for a permanent building began on July 29, 1949. On December 11, 1949, R. C. Hoppes, Chairman of the Building Committee, placed the cornerstone. On June 18, 1950, the Peru Brethren Church was dedicated.

By the mid 1990's the church had outgrown the original building and planning was begun for a new worship center. Completion of the new worship center and classrooms was completed in December 1994. The first wedding in the new worship center was performed June 1995.

Due to issues with the first retaining wall, in 1998 a new retaining wall was completed. The parking lot was paved in 2004.
